Ladies and gentlemen, please stand for a minutes’ silence in memory of all of our colleagues who have passed away since our last Assembly. As interpreters whose profession brings together all peoples and cultures let us also remember those who have died in the recent wave of targeted acts of violence perpetrated because of intolerance and hatred. Symbolised by marches in Paris by world leaders and ordinary people, we too stand against such attacks and offer our sympathy to victims and their families throughout the world.
